Come join us at Pepahim Island (Spit Island) for the 2026 West Coast Open!  There will be a day of demos followed by competitions on Satuday and Sunday.  Details below!

West Coast Wind Open Event Schedule August 28-30

Friday August 28 - Brand Demo Day

  • Brand demos and product testing
  • Start: 10:30 AM
  • Brands:
    • Ozone
    • Naish
    • Stinger Boards • North

Saturday August 29 - Kiteboarding Big Air & Freestyle Competition

  • Skippers' Meeting: 10:30 AM
  • Competition start: Wind dependent (announced at the skippers' meeting)
  • Divisions:
    • Men's Open
    • Womens' Open
    • Junior (Under 18)
  • Competition Format:
    • 12-minute heats
    • Qualifiers, semi-finals, and finals (depending on the number of competitors)
  • Judging Criteria:
    • Competitors will be scored on their best three tricks
    • 40% – Height
    • 40% – Technical Difficulty
    • 20% – Execution & Overall Impression
    • Riders are encouraged to showcase a mix of Big Air and Freestyle, including both hooked-in and unhooked tricks.
  • Awards Ceremony: Immediately following the competition.

Sunday August 30 – Speed Challenge & Slalom Racing

  • Skippers' Meeting: 10:30 AM
  • Competition Start: Wind dependent (final schedule announced at the skippers' meeting)
  • Divisions:
    • Kiteboard
    • Windsurf
    • Foil (Wing Foil, Parawing & Windfoil)
    • Team Relay (1 Kiteboarder, 1 Windsurfer, 1 Foil Rider)
  • Competition Format:  A slalom course will be set using inflatable race buoys with an upwind mark and a downwind mark. Course layout and race format will be reviewed during the skippers' meeting based on the day's wind conditions.
  • Awards Ceremony: Immediately following the competition.
